Forced tourism

Since my days in San Diego are likely to be over sooner than I have control over (re-structuring at my company with no assurance that there will be any work for our division by the end of August), I'm forcing myself to go out and see/do all the major things that are available around here.

Today was Cabrillo National Monument, which specifically is a white statue dedicated to the Portugese explorer, Cabrillo (natch), who was the first European to set foot on the West Coast. However, the $5 entrance fee also gets you access to tidepools, the Point Loma lighthouse, the gift shop, some very hazy views of San Diego, and a taxidermy display of 4 animals.
